NCIS: ORIGINS continues to fill out its roster, casting Robert Taylor as Gibb’s father and Daniel Bellomy and Caleb Martin Foote

Now, it has been announced that actor Robert Taylor is going to portray younger Gibbs’ (played by Austin Stowell) hard-nosed dad, Jackson Gibbs. Having appeared on screen since the late 1980s, Taylor has a longlist of work under his belt, including Home And Away, The Feds, Stingers, Ballykissangel, Satisfaction and Killing Time.

Robert Taylor will step into the late, great Ralph Waite’s shoes by playing dad to a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in CBS’ upcoming NCIS: Origins prequel series. TVLine has learned that the Australian Longmire vet has been tapped to fill the recurring guest star role of Jackson Gibbs,

Origins are the aforementioned Abercrumbie and Rodriguez as well as Austin Stowell and Mariel Molino, all of which were previously announced. NCIS: Origins is a prequel series that will follow young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon in the original NCIS).

NCIS: Origins has cast Longmire star Robert Taylor as Leroy Jethro Gibbs' dad. The prequel series will follow a young Gibbs as he starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the NCIS Camp Pendleton, with the younger versions of several characters making an appearance.
